Hi Elena, Yes, it is possible. You can run two operating systems side by side, but you have to install Windows on a separate partition for Fedora. This is because Windows uses the NTFS file system and Fedora uses ext3 or ext4 file system that Windows can not read. You can re-parition disk without losing data, using a free tool called gparted. You download it, burn it to a CD, and then boot from it. You will need a lot of disk space for the re-partition the disk though. Download link: http://gparted.sourceforge.net/ Then you can install Windows 7 in a new section. After installing Windows 7 boot Fedora will replace the Windows boot loader and it will look like Fedora has passed, it will happen even if you install a second hard drive. Then you need to boot from the CD Fedora, select Rescue System and reinstall the boot loader grub. Then it will give you the ability to boot into Windows or Linux. Here is a video guide for reference: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kRrfCe79SjU Please take a look and let me know if you have any questions. Good luck creating a dual-boot. James

You should be able to have a second partition on your hard driver where you can install Windows and then choose which partition to boot from (Windows or Linux)

You have a few options, you can either divide your hard disk with a disc manager and create two partitions, then install windows on one.

You can also use what is called a "virtual machine". The most common one on linux is called VirtualBox. You can download it here: https://www.virtualb...

With this tool, you can create a copy of a computer under linux. Then you can install windows on it similar to how you would install it on a computer.

Hi,

You can install Windows from inside Linux onto your physical hard drive, but you need separate partition as NTFS or FAT32. Below is a way to use a virtual machine to do the actual installation, but it's performed on your hard drive.
  1. Prepare a new partition onto where you want to install Windows.
  2. Start the Windows installation with a Qemu virtual machine and your physical hard drive mapped (target partition can't be mounted):
    qemu -hda /dev/sda -cdrom winxp.iso -m 1G -boot d --enable-kvm

  3. Install Windows on the partition you created.
  4. Reinstall Grub
Regards,
Lokesh
