The Hal-Life Model viewer is developed to view models in .mdl, which is a Half-Life engine format. Models are seen with texture, a wire-frame and the viewer also has options for attachments and hit boxes. Users may also view the animation sequences of the model through the drop-down box in order to ensure that the model is working properly in the game. Models with multiple textures and multiple attachments are supported, with an option to make alterations or modifications in the texture of the model. It can stop animation playing, view the scale of mesh and the scale of bones. Mod developers are also able to view attachment points, select skin from skin families, view the model's chrome effect and change submodel for each available body part. It has a modified PAK viewer with recent PAK files, and allowed the importing of PAK models straight from the PAK files. The Half-Life Model Viewer also has fullscreen support, and has options for 3dfx with miniGL and user adjustable resolutions. GCFScape

GCFScape is an application that can open and extract GCF files used by Steam for storage of its game contents.GCFScape is required to open files with VPK format. When GCFScape is installed, you have to associate GCF files with GCFScape for them to be opened right away. The files will have icons when this step is done. Other supported formats by GCFScape are NCF, Half-Life BSP, PAK, WAD, VPK and XZP. GCFScape can validate all or part of GCF files. GCFScape can perform the following functions: File Mapping [by default], Quick File Mapping, Verbose Logging, Volatile Access and Write Access.
