Apple Preview
Apple Preview is a PDF document and image display software for Mac OS X, but originally created as NeXT’s OPENSTEP operating system. Since its main function is to display documents in PDF format, there is a specification exclusively for PDF files. It opens other file formats, which include the following: BMP or bitmap files, GIF or Graphics Interchange Format files, JPEG and JPEG 2000 or Joint Photographic Experts Group files, TIF and TIFF or Tagged Image File Format files, XBM or X BitMap files, PICTor QuickDraw image files, PNG or Portable Network Graphics files, PNTG or MacPaint Bitmap Graphic files, QTIF or QuickTime image files, RAW or Raw image files, SGI or Silicon Graphics Image files, TGA or TARGA image files, DAE or Collada 3D files, AI orAdobe Illustrator Artwork files, DNG or Digital Negative files, HDR or High Dynamic Range Image files, ICNS or Apple Icon Image files, FPX or FlashPix files, RAD or Radiance Scene Description files, ICO or Windows icon files, PS or Adobe PostScript files, and PSD or Adobe Photoshop files. Other features include the Quartz graphics layer, CoreImage and ImageIO frameworks, and Aqua themed graphical user interface.
