Hi Nigel,

Could you try doing a clean re-install of SMR on Win 8.1?

As in, exit SMR, uninstall the old version, download and install the latest release from our site.

You could also try locking your taskbar in place and combining the buttons and hiding the labels of the tasks (taskbar properties)

If you\'re still seeing this after the re-install, please send us a quick note using the form below and we\'ll help you fix this:

Thanks,

James

I re-installed and it still happened, but the problem seems to be gone when I\'m using large taskbar buttons. Unfortunately, I need small taskbar buttons for my work.

Sorry for the several comments. Nothing happened when I pressed Post so I thought it was broken.

Looks like your taskbar is setup vertically.

Could you try the Lock the Taskbar option? This will create a re-sizable partition between the start button and that taskbar buttons thereby preventing the overlapping.

Hi Nigel,

They are overlapping because when you upgraded from Windows 8 to 8.1, the supported files for icon of SMR may have got corrupted. So, you should uninstall it once and restart the PC. Then, install it once again.
The problem should be gone.

Lokesh

On all screenshots I see, it shows the Start Screen on the "Dashboard Tile". But for me, it shows Skype. I also don't understand the difference between the settings "Enabled", "Disabled" and "Dynamic". Only "Hidden" is obvious, and it removes the Skype tile. But the other options don't seem to make any difference...
