FamiTracker

FamiTracker is a free tracker application that runs on Windows for making music for NES/Famicom systems. It can export NSF files allowing the music it creates to play on real hardware or on your NES [Nintendo Systems] applications. All channels have full real-time emulation. It supports PAL and NTSC modes and MIDI devices. It converts internal PCM into DPCM sample. The new version 0.4.1 has corrected the bugs experienced in version 4.0 such as volume slide [Axx] and vibrato [4xx] export bugs and an undo bag after clipboard paste. It has fixed problems with importing FTM. It can copy volume column using ‘Shift+copy’ key to text. It now has an Instrument Files menu. ‘1’ is the new note cut default key. Problems experienced in loading instrument files with max size sequences have been fixed. FTM files are audio files created by FamiTracker such as short audio samples and notes in a melody. FTM files are proprietary, meaning only FamiTracker can open and edit these files, but the songs created using FamiTracker can be converted to WAV or NSF and played on your hardware or NES applications. FamiTracer is derived from the word “Famicon”, Japanese name for Nintendo systems.
